"Even if it isn't the truth, it's still the best way to live"
by Simon inhave you heard that old chestnut?
i have.. typically it's the last resort when you have dismantled a jws beliefs and they have no way of defending them.
they know they are beat so they come out with that one.. its effectively an admission that you are right and they have no argument but they are still going to attend meetings because they like the social club.. what a lame way to defend your faith..

Aprostate Exam
No religion for our family. I am so happy to be able to get home after my professional occupation and enjoy my family, without worrying about how I appear to people at a lame ass congregation. Now my kids have the opportunity to take their time with homework and we can be support for them. I remember being stressed and pressured to go to meetings and get home late. No time for homework, I stayed awake many nights until 2 am or more doing homework because we had book study or mid-week meeting that lasted until 9 pm. I would ask brothers at high school if they had time for homework, and they used to respond that they half assed it because it did not matter, the system of things was ending soon anyway. We used to stay after the meeting until 10 many times to brown nose by helping in the cleaning of the hall or helping at the literature department. All bullshit and a nasty way to live while being judged by everyone. Not a way to live. -

Honestly, Did Jehovah's Witnesses Do Anything POSITIVE For You?
by minimus ini was raised as a witness and am very thankful that i am out.
having said that, i think my upbringing produced positive qualities in me.
do you believe that anything positive came from your being a witness?

Aprostate Exam
I encountered many brothers that looked down at me because my father was not as active as they desired. My mother forced him to baptize while he doubted many things. My father never opened up to the brothers about his doubts, until we were all grown up and out of the house. So I seemed to never be good enough, and by the time I was being considered for Ministerial Servitude, I realized that many things were man made bullshit. I developed a lower self esteem but eventually grew to give a shit and started believing in myself. I knew that I wanted to get a higher education and not be a slave like many of these older men in the congregation. The only brothers that were nice to me were brothers that were obviously gay in suppression or hiding. So the only thing I took away is to be aware and cautious of all people, including witnesses. I will say, there are many good natured followers in there, so sad many of these did not get a higher education. -

Evolution a Fact - Agreed but So What?
by LAWHFol inin many debates between believers and non believers (nb), the nb uses evolution as some sort of proof to support the non existence of god.. i agree that evolution is a fact, however i feel that evolution is proof of some sort of benevolent original cause.. if i were to create an a.i.
, i would program into it the ability to self-refactor and evolve.. i would also randomly inject viruses into the program (evil) where the a.i.
would be forced to stretch its current capabilities & modify it's operating functions in order to get through the random virus, and continue living.. with a steady flow of different viruses, the a.i.

Sorry I am slightly off the subject, but, my father got disfellowshipped by a whole bunch of guys I grew up with and was friends with. They were drunks back in the day, I know because we used to party in Juarez Mexico as underaged youths (while we pioneered). I know a few still drink and push the limit in hiding. What pissed me off at one time is that while I was finishing college, these bastards were climbing the JW ladder, and became elders plus judged my pop. They still have their drinks and much more than everyone thinks. There are a couple that I know get their hands on cocaine once in a while. A few of their wives are whores that desire other elders with better paying jobs. Money, money, money, money........ -

GB Members: What's the Story?
by Cold Steel inover the past few decades i've met many individual jws, but i've always been curious about the gb members themselves and about service at bethel.
first, do gb members fraternize with regular rank and file members or do they only sell out each other?
when i was a methodist, it didn't take me long to figure out that our minister and his wife were frequently invited to dinner, but i never heard of him actually inviting members to his house for dinner.

About other headship, I remember my mother dying over the chance of feeding the Circuit Overseers. She always put her name in to do this hospitality. From my experience in eating at the same table with these men, I remember a lot of reverence given to them, from other brothers we invited. I remember these bastards (Circuit Overseers) not even looking at us at our eyes when speaking to us, or just a spare glance here and there. They also were not interested in starting conversations, but would make outright publication references in correction of what anyone said. Also, Why the f@#$ do their wives try to imitate opera singers during the kingdom melodies.
P.S. I got chosen to go to field service with one of these idiots one time, It creeped me out. Thank goodness I did not get goosed.

WT Study 1/10/16 Encouraging Child Baptism And More Nonsense
by JW_Rogue ini've noticed that each wt lesson really only has one or two points they want remembered.
normally they build up to these by about the third subheading.
this week's lesson though was different, the main point was insidiously made through an experience in the first paragraph:.

Aprostate Exam
Entrapping children at an early age. My sisters and I were forced to get baptized at the age of 14, they are 7 and 8 years my elder. Then at 18 years of age, my sisters got a great job at a bank and they were falsely accused by my mom of immorality simply because they wanted to rent an apartment. My mother went to the elders and told them that they wanted to leave home before getting married, the elders responded to "kick them out of the house." Exactly those words, I heard that bastard elder say this and the other elders followed in his direction. So my mom went home and went straight to my sisters' closet and threw all their cloths, belongings, plus their car keys out the door. I was 14 at that time, so while my sisters cried to my mom for understanding, I went outside and packed their stuff in their car, without my mom knowing. I bought them pick up time and they could make a quick escape. They went to a hotel and got themselves an apartment there after. Understandably, My sisters never stepped into a Kingdom Hall again. I lived through similar hell but had a physical advantage over my mom and dad. I remained visually stedfast and even faked my field service time, so that I would be able to marry my fiancee in the KH. I am happy to say that my wife and I are faded after we also left our parent's house, and have been faded over 20 years. We have disgust for the GB. -

Aprostate Exam
Before my wife and I faded, we went through similar women envy against my wife and her sister. She and her sister were among the few great looking gals in the area. She used to express to me that many sisters would act out against them in sneaky ways, behind her and her sister's back. We started our courtship approximately 22 years ago, so now we've been happily married 21 years. The first time I took her to my own hall, she got the dirty looks and ugly statements made against her. This was also from sisters that treated me nicely, the older sisters tried to shit on my parade by asking "are you sure questions" about my new interest in my future wife.
One day we both had had it and were sick of it. After months of blasphemy and made up stories about us, I decided to put my arm around my finance during a Sunday meeting. Sure thing, we were both pulled to the side and asked if we were thinking about marriage. I answered, of course. Then an elder that was always out to get me says, "well you should of told us before you acted on getting engaged". I smirked and said, "I really don't think this is any of your business brother, and I will ask you to marry us if we want you to marry us!" This enraged him but he managed to keep it under control. Then the Presiding elder came to my defense and said, "Well we just want to let you know that we are here if you need any help". Then He asked, "Do you have anyone in mind to ask to marry you". I answered yes, and related to him that we had asked the president of the city at that time. During the 90's the head elder of the city was referred to as the president. This helped in paving the way into our smooth transition into marriage.
So my wife's good looks and classiness also affected her, even if she was fully active. This will be grief you will go through, even if you are fully involved in the organization.
Lastly, I also got pressure and grief for getting educated. Taking a religions of the world class might help in your decisions. I finished my higher education in the Psychology field, and this reaffirmed the abusive control and chauvinistic behavior that permeates this cult. https://www.freedomofmind.com/Info/BITE/bitemodel.php
